Santa Fe Trail School for the Performing Arts

Home for Performing Arts in Northeastern New Mexico

Raton's historic Shuler Theater is the permanent home for the Santa Fe Trail School for the Performing Arts.  The school was founded in 2004 with the goal of transitioning into a full-time, year-round institution for professional instruction in the performing arts.  The school produces fall, spring, and summer productions by the Raton Youth Theater, annual holiday productions of A Christmas Carol, and an adult summer professional repertory season consisting of four different plays and musicals.

/images/pages/youth-theater.jpgThe Raton Youth Theater program is open to all children in second grade through high school.  A four-week workshop is held each summer.  Scholarships are available.  The course is led by a professional team of instructors and culminates with the youth's performance on stage.
