Summer Repertory Theater

Driving Miss Daisy
This warm-hearted and humorous comedy won the Pulitzer Prize, the Outer Critics Circle Award for theater and the Academy Award for Best Movie. The Shuler Theater version stars Barbara Farrar as Miss Daisy and movie actor, Mathew Greer, as driver, Hoke. J. Michael Craig plays the son, Boolie. Tom Evans directs.

The Odd Couple
Although most people are familiar with the Hollywood movie and television show of the same name, this show had its beginnings on Broadway. The Shuler Theater version of this Neil Simon play, directed by Barbara Farrar, features newcomer Weldon Durham as the grouchy, sloppy Oscar and Shuler favorite, J. Michael Craig as Felix, the compulsive neat-nik. Other participants in the laugh-riot are Brenda Ferri, Megan Bowers, Joe Zink, Ian McCabe, and Vinnie Gumlich.

Dracula
Who isn’t familiar with Dracula, the tale of the undead that has frightened so many audiences for so many years. Tom Evans directs the macabre show including his unusual setting with many special effects.

Last Train to Nibroc
This tender, poignant comedy starts in the 1940's after World War II. The young woman meets the young man on the train and find they are both from Corbin, KY (Nibroc spelled backwards). Tom Evans directs longtime Shuler actor Vinnie Gumlich, as the returning soldier and newcomer Megan Bowers as the young woman.

Bonus Shows
Back to Broadway
A young company of dancers from Muscatine, Iowa, directed by legendary tap-dancing star, Bruce Brown, brings a variety show of dancing highlights from many Broadway shows to the Shuler Stage for two performances only, Friday & Saturday, August 15 and 16.
Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats
A new version by Danny Chang will once again grace the Shuler stage for one performance only - Sunday Matinee, August 24. The amazing feats of balance and showmanship feature some new acts as well as the traditional tower of chairs, spinning plates, bicycle tricks, contortion and many more.
